Fire-Resistance Testing Procedures for Construction Elements—A Review

نویسندگان

چکیده

Fire accidents are a significant risk to human life and civil infrastructure. As countermeasure, the regulatory bodies of different countries have established standards for evaluating performance construction elements during fire exposure. ISO 834 is globally accepted fire-resistance testing standard. Other include ASTM E119, BS 476, IS 3809, JIS A 1304, AS 1503, EN 1363, GB/T 9978, which utilized by US, Britain, India, Japan, Australia, Europe, China, respectively. This article presents summary comparison standards. In reality, standard tests isolated structural members may not efficiently portray realistic scenarios due location, its intensity, etc. Thus, researchers variety specialized setups full-scale non-standard fulfill their research objectives. The includes selected full-scale, ad hoc, that were reported in literature. highlights need timely updates accommodate newly developed materials, systems, possible regional scenarios. also identifies areas require focus experimental fire-resistant testing.

Bootstrap Procedures for Testing Homogeneity Hypotheses

Before pooling data on effect sizes (a generic term for parameters of interest in the context of meta-analysis) from different studies, it is important to test for homogeneity of the effect sizes. A well known test for homogeneity is based on Cochran’s chisquare statistic. Our recent investigation showed that when the effect size of interest is a pairwise correlation, Cochran’s homogeneity test...
